This year at the annual Poetic Heart event, Alfred Benny Joshua, student poet, and singer/ song-writer presented his poem, The Haven for a Soul. Fourteen of our students got the opportunity to visit and cheer for Alfred at the event. The event featured a celebration of poetry and music.
Initiated on 16th February 2012, the Poetic Heart found its humble beginnings when SGI-Gulf in association with Dubai Knowledge Village and Dubai International Academic City hosted a gathering of poets across the region at a poetry symposium under the banner of “The Poetic Heart: Connecting Humanity”. The first edition of this annual multi-lingual event to unite the hearts and minds through poetry was graced by seven distinguished poets and a world musician. The event celebrates the love of Poetry rooted in the local tradition and based on themes of Peace, Friendship, Tolerance and Human dignity.
